ABOUT SUN HYDRAULICS

Sun Hydraulics was founded in Sarasota, Florida in 1970, and sold their first product, a gauge snubber, the following year. Sun Hydraulics introduced their Series 1 cartridge a few years later in 1978, which would lead to one of the most comprehensive lines of screw-in hydraulic cartridge valves and manifolds in the world. Sun Hydraulics would continue to expand into international markets in the coming years and introduced the Series 3 cartridge in 1983. The Series 4 would follow in 1985, allowing Sun Hydraulics to offer screw-in hydraulic valves in four flow capacities.

As business continued to expand across the globe, a fifth size, the Series 0, was introduced in 1995. Sun Hydraulics went public in 1995 and continued to build new manufacturing facilities around the world through the 1990s and early 2000s. Investment and expansion continues until 2016, when Sun Hydraulics acquired Enovation Controls, a leader in electronic control, display, and instrumentation solutions. A few years and acquisitions later, Helios Technologies is established as a parent company to Sun Hydraulics and its other business units to better represent their product offerings.
